The Program
Welcome to Visually Speaking, the Exhibit, showcasing films and poetry created by Bronx high school students of the Full Circle Project during a six-week intensive course on filmmaking and language arts. Visually Speaking features the output of original digital films and poems by students who creatively blend language with moving images, as a vehicle to describe their world and instigate social change.
Full Circle Project is a youth in education program of the Drammeh Institute, Inc., made possible through a partnership with the United Way of New York City, Tekserve Apple Specialists and Al Santana Productions. Our mission is to give high school age youth one- on-one access to professionals working in the arts, through mentorships and learning hands-on about new technologies. Our goal is to strengthen their ability to apply critical thinking to their studies, life, and prepare them for the workforce. This year's programming is supported in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the Bronx Council on the Arts through the New York State Council on the Arts Decentralization Program, Councilman Larry Seabrook and General Re Corporation's Matching Gift Fund.
Click, enjoy, reflect, and never underestimate the consciousness of our youth.
